For this holy collection, we illustrated the blessed virgin Mary, the ten commandments, and important holy days such as first communion, Saint's Day, and feast days.

While we designed many of these religious pictures for younger kids to color in, we've also included detailed designs for older kids and adults, too.

Print some to support lesson plans to teach Catholic homeschool kids about different saints and strengthen their faith. Or, use our wonderful selection of Roman Catholic pictures to create a collaborative coloring poster about God's divine mercy as an entire class. You could even use our drawings to make greeting cards to spread God's word.

All our high-resolution free Catholic worksheets are standard US letter size, but they also fit perfectly onto A4 paper sizes.

The Meaning of "Catholic": The word "Catholic" comes from the Greek word katholikos, meaning "universal" or "whole." This name was chosen to show that the Catholic Church welcomes everyone. The idea is that the Church is meant to be a community for all people worldwide.

Seven Sacraments: Catholics participate in seven sacraments, special religious ceremonies that mark significant moments in a person's spiritual life. These sacraments include Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist (Communion), Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage, and Holy Orders. Each sacrament is seen as a way to receive God's grace.

The Catholic Church Law Code: The Catholic Church has a legal system called Canon Law. This system governs Church practices, the behavior of its members, and how the Church handles issues like marriage, ordination, and discipline.

Saints Are Special People: In the Catholic Church, saints lived very holy and virtuous lives. They are believed to be in heaven with God. Saints serve as role models, showing how to live a life of faith.

The Stations of the Cross: The Stations of the Cross are 14 images depicting Jesus' journey from his condemnation to his burial. Catholics pray and reflect on each station, especially during Lent, to remember Jesus' suffering and sacrifice.

The Rosary: The Rosary is a unique form of prayer in the Catholic Church. It involves repeating prayers like the "Hail Mary" while meditating on key events in Jesus' and Mary's lives. Each bead on the Rosary helps Catholics keep track of their prayers, making it a tool for prayer and reflection.

Hail Mary: The Hail Mary is one of the most well-known prayers in Catholicism. It's a way for believers to feel closer to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and ask for her help.

Life After Death: Catholics believe a person's soul continues to live on when they die. Depending on how they lived their life, their soul may go to heaven, purgatory, or hell. Heaven is a place of eternal happiness with God. Purgatory is a place of purification before reaching heaven. Hell is a place of separation from God. This belief encourages Catholics to live good and faithful lives.

Catechism: The Catechism of the Catholic Church is a book that explains the Church's teachings in detail. It covers topics like the sacraments, prayer, and moral living. Catholics use the Catechism as a reference to better understand their faith and to teach others about it.

Craft Ideas to Make With Catholic Coloring Pages

Exploring faith through art just got more exciting with these projects for catholic coloring pages.

These great ideas blend catholic themes, divine mercy, and the spirit of first communion into activities that enrich any classroom community or Catholic school.

    1. Creation Cube

Craft an interactive tool for kids of all ages to explore the story of Creation.

Select six Catholic coloring pages, each representing a day of creation, and color them.

Download a cube net template online and print it onto cardstock.

Cut and glue your colored designs onto each square template face of the net. Once dry, cut around the net outline.

Fold along the lines of the net and assemble it into a cube shape, securing the tabs with glue to hold it together.

This creation cube can be a hands-on learning aid, ideal for lesson plans on the story of Creation or family activities during Catholic holy days.

    2. Worship Windchime

Make prayer a visual and moving experience with a handmade windchime.

Select coloring sheets that display different saints, archangels, or drawings of Jesus.

After coloring, cut out the illustrations and laminate them for durability. Punch holes at the top and bottom of each cutout.

Thread a ribbon through the top and attach a small jingle bell to the bottom.

Make a small hoop out of a metal clothes hanger or wire. Tie the cutouts to the ring and add feathers, beads, and charms for extra decoration.

Hang the windchime where it catches the gentle breeze and use it for prayer or mindful meditation, especially during feast days or Saint’s Day celebrations.

    3. Divine Diorama

Design a 3D display of your favorite Bible story to share with others.

Complete drawings that best illustrate the story you wish to show, such as Noah's Ark, the Nativity, or Jesus’ baptism.

Find a shoebox and use your colored pages to create a background. Glue the pages into place and use additional materials like colored cardstock and fabric for extra detail.

If depicting Jesus calming the storm, use blue tissue paper for the water and cotton balls for the clouds.

Cut out figures to place within your chosen scene.

Place your diorama on a shelf or desk as a reminder of the story's lessons.

    4. Prayer Page Markers

Turn reading into a divine experience with angelic bookmarks.

Print a design focusing on themes like the coming of Jesus at 25% scale. Color the design and trim to size (2 x 6 inches).

Write scripture, inspirational messages, and positive affirmations on the back. Laminate the page marker for durability.

Gift the bookmarks to your entire class to keep their place in the Holy Bible and as a reminder that they're always under God's watchful care.

    5. Scripture Scrolls

Create a personal and heartfelt gift that carries the word of God.

After coloring a design, write your favorite Bible verses on the back. You could include passages about Saint Anne's helper or the Ten Commandments.

Roll the finished sheet into a scroll (with the colored design on the outside) and secure it with a ribbon.

Keep the scroll as a meaningful symbol of your faith, or give it to a friend for their first holy communion.

    6. Seeds of Scripture

Spread the word of God and nature’s beauty with scripture seed bombs.

Print Catholic-themed designs at 25% scale and color.

Glue your colored design onto a small paper bag or envelope. On the back, write scripture that inspires you or teaches important lessons.

Fill the packet with wildflower seeds and seal it with tape.

Throw the seed bombs in a garden to symbolize faith growing alongside the flowers.

Get the whole family involved for a great way to start discussions about faith and stewardship of the Earth.

    7. Divine Door Decorations

Welcome guests with a door hanger of faith and devotion.

Print a coloring sheet featuring Catholic Saints or Marian apparitions on cardstock at 50% scale. Fill the illustration with vibrant shades.

Write a welcoming phrase on the design using markers.

Hang the door decoration on your bedroom door or outside Sunday school classrooms.

    8. Illuminate Your Faith

Craft a radiant display to brighten your space and inspire reflection.

Print a faith-filled coloring page that features an illustration of God, Catholic symbols, or the Blessed Virgin Mary onto translucent paper. Color the design in vivid shades.

Frame the design with black paper strips to outline and highlight the details.

Place your stained glass effect artwork in a window to catch the sunlight and spread God’s light in Catholic homeschool environments.

    9. Journal of Journeys

Design a personalized prayer journal to record your spiritual growth.

Color a coloring page on Catholicism in bright shades. Trim and glue to the front cover of a notebook.

Write prayers, hymns, and personal reflections inside to capture your faith journey.

    10. Blooms of Belief

Create a bouquet of faith flowers to brighten any room with God’s beauty.

Color a religious coloring page design and then cut out flower shapes.

Attach each flower to a green pipe cleaner to form stems.Place the flowers in a vase and display the bouquet as part of your home or classroom decor.
