"Preppy" is a perfect example, which TikTok has totally reinvented. Old school preppy was all about polished sophistication - crisp collars, pearl studs, and an Ivy League vibe that rested somewhere between a yacht club and a boarding school.

These days, the preppy aesthetic is back in a whole new way. It's playful, pastel, and often covered in smiley face stickers.
